With the new Limited Edition MASTERPIECE 8X8, Steinway & Sons pays tribute to the beauty of the earth and its treasures. A Steinway is made of 80 % wood, conscientiously crafted, yet much of its craft is traditionally hidden beneath the elegantly polished black surface. That is why Steinway & Sons produces precious grand and upright pianos distinguished by the use of special veneers and unique examples of craftsmanship. These instruments are a feast for the eyes while remaining sonic masterpieces.

Con la nuova Limited Edition MASTERPIECE 8X8, Steinway & Sons celebra la bellezza della terra e dei suoi tesori. Un pianoforte Steinway è realizzato per l'80% in legno, lavorato con perizia artigianale, dotato di un rivestimento nero lucidato a specchio. Steinway & Sons propone come sempre preziosi pianoforti verticali e a coda che sanno distinguersi per l’utilizzo di speciali impiallacciature, esempi straordinari di manifattura artigianale. Al contempo raffinati strumenti di produzione del suono e un piacere per lo sguardo.

Acero venato, noce americano, rovere, eucalipto, macore venato, ebano makassar, olivo, palissandro santos: tutte varietà di legno dai nomi più o meno affascinanti, più o meno rinomati, che provengono da diverse regioni del mondo, in differenti colori e venature. Per chi ama davvero la natura.

8 PIANOFORTI A CODA E 8 PIANOFORTI VERTICALI

Il numero 8 simboleggia grande fortuna ed è per questo che nella Steinway Manufaktur di Amburgo vengono realizzati a mano, con passione e nel rispetto della natura, solo 8 pianoforti a coda e 8 pianoforti verticali per tipo di legno.

ARMONIA DI COLORI FINO AL MINIMO DETTAGLIO

Il design dei pianoforti verticali e a coda MASTERPIECE 8X8 è lineare, moderno, senza orpelli. L’impianto cromatico si armonizza perfettamente con il legno utilizzato.

Acero venato, rovere, eucalipto, makoré venato, olivo, palissandro santos: alle qualità di legno dalle tonalità chiare e moderatamente scure sono abbinati accessori cromati, mentre la piastra in ghisa si distingue per un nobile argento.

Noce americano, ebano makassar: la struttura più scura di questi legni è valorizzata dal design degli elementi di un caldo color oro rosa.

La targhetta numerata di ogni Masterpiece si inserisce perfettamente nell’impianto cromatico. Lo stesso si può dire della madreperla di Tahiti di color grigio metallico o la madreperla, rosa iridescente, dei Mari del sud del logo MASTERPIECE.

Tutti i pianoforti a coda della Collezione MASTERPIECE 8X8 sono proposti nel modello B-211 e sono dotati delle più recenti tecnologie Steinway & Sons:

con il sistema di riproduzione autonoma ad alta risoluzione Spirio | r, è possibile non solo suonare e far suonare, ma anche registrare, riprodurre e modificare con la massima precisione la propria esecuzione al pianoforte. Possibilità di espressione prima inimmaginabili e nuove modalità di condivisione e di partecipazione alle performance aprono a nuove dimensioni per l’ispirazione e il piacere di fare musica.

LO STRUMENTO DI SCRITTURA CONDIVIDE L’ORIGINALITÀ DELLO STRUMENTO MUSICALE

Ogni Masterpiece 8X8 è dotato di un sofisticato strumento di scrittura ideato dal designer amburghese Jan Zander in esclusiva per Steinway & Sons.

Si tratta di un’opera unica ed originale, realizzata da Zander con le qualità di legno massiccio originali della collezione, e si abbina, nel design, a quello degli strumenti, sottolineando ancor di più la passione e l’amore per il dettaglio con cui sono stati realizzati. Il design della clip, ad esempio, fa riferimento a un brevetto Steinway del 1880 e alla forma delle viti della pressa che venne realizzata all'epoca, e che viene utilizzata ancor oggi per ottenere la caratteristica forma della cassa del pianoforte a coda.

American Walnut, Eucalyptus, Figured Macore, Figured Sycamore, Macassar Ebony, Oak, Olive, Santos Rosewood — melodious names, each originating from distant regions in the world, in different colours and grains: something for every nature lover.

8 GRAND PIANOS AND 8 UPRIGHTS

The number 8 symbolises great luck, so only 8 grand pianos and 8 upright pianos of each wood are passionately handcrafted with respect for nature at the Steinway Factory in Hamburg.

COLOUR HARMONY DOWN TO THE LAST DETAIL

The design of the MASTERPIECE 8X8 grand and upright pianos is clear, modern and direct. In addition, a colour concept was developed for each instrument in perfect harmony with its respective wood.

Maple bolt, oak, eucalyptus, Macore bolt, olive, Santos rosewood — chrome fittings were chosen for the light to medium-dark woods, and the cast-iron top also captivates with its elegant silver tone. American walnut, Macassar ebony — the darker structure of these woods is accentuated by warm rose gold-coloured design elements.

The numbered plaque that each Masterpiece bears perfectly fits the concept — as does the metallic grey Tahiti or iridescent rose-coloured South Sea pearl in the MASTERPIECE logo.

All grand pianos in the MASTERPIECE 8X8 collection are issued as Model B-211 and are equipped as Steinway & Sons Spirios, the world’s finest high resolution player piano. A WRITING INSTRUMENT AS INDIVIDUAL AS THE PIANO

Each Masterpiece 8X8 comes with a high-quality writing instrument designed by Hamburg–based designer Jan Zander exclusively for Steinway & Sons.

Individually handcrafted by Zander from the original solid woods of the collection, the design corresponds to the look of the instruments and once again underlines the passion and attention to detail that go into them. The design of the clip harkens back to a Steinway patent from 1880 and employs the shape of the screws of the pressing device developed at that time, still used today to bend the grand piano case.
